Competition Subteams

All of the competition subteam information can be found on this section of the website. This is the one point of the season where students may not have complete say over their role on the team. Only so many students can fill each position at competition, so the students most prepared for each role will be the first to fill it. Other students will be cheeribng on the robot that would not have been built without their efforts. Students will rarely have the oppurtunity to be on multiple competition subteams, but if they are, they need to be able to prioritize them as always. Below is a list of the competition subteams and a bit on each one.

Awards

The awards team at competition will be the ones in the pit to talk to the judges and visitors, as well as the ones to do the chairman's presentation. Everything the preseason and build season awards subteams have worked for depends on this fairly small group of people. These students will be the embassadors from our team for the judges, they need to be the students to make the best impression on them possible.

Drive Team

The drive team drives the robot as well as creates the moment by moment strategy during competition. This team is a fairly big deal around competition. Many people wanted to be on the drive team last year. This is a subteam that will be hand selected by leadership.

Media

The media team will continue taking pictures and making videos throughout the competition weekend. They will also maintain signs, flags, and anything else used to market the team.

Pit Crew

The pit crew will be made up of the members who are skilled in electronics, fabrication, and programming. these students need to be able to handle pressure well and be able to repair various issues of the robot in about 30 minutes.
